Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant (DA) Full-Time - South Mississippi Smiles (Pascagoula)

We have the job for you! SOUTH MISSISSIPPI SMILES is offering a full-time opportunity as a Dental Assistant at our PASCAGOULA office. We are an upbeat team looking for an individual who has a passion for helping others and wants to make a positive difference in their community.

CERTIFICATIONS: CDA or RDA required, X-ray certification preferred

EXPERIENCE: Must have Dental Assistant certification

JOB TYPE: Full-time

SCHEDULE: MONDAY-FRIDAY

PAY: Starting at $13.00 - $18.00

BONUS PAY: up to $500 additional per month

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
  • Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
  • Take impressions of the patient's teeth (models), extractions, composite fillings, etc...
  • Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
  • Ask about the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
